Thecookoutatl Walk-In Tubs takes your request and passes it along. The provider is a separate business. It does the visit, the quote and the work. Providers do the work.

What the provider may ask

Expect a few simple questions. They help the provider plan.

• Which project: walk-in tub or tub-to-shower conversion?
• Who will use it? Any need for a seat, grab bars or wide entry?
• How big is the bathroom?
• Is the home an older colonial, split-level or rowhouse?
• What is the plumbing like? Older cast-iron or galvanized pipes matter.
• When would you like to start?

What happens after you send a request

A provider in our network reads your request and reaches out. Many providers can respond quickly, though timing varies. The provider may set up a visit to see the space. Then you get a quote in writing. You can take your time with it, share it with family and decide at your own pace.

Questions worth asking

Ask these before you agree to anything:

• Is the quote in writing? What does it include?
• Who does the work, and who handles permits?
• How long will the bathroom be out of use?
• What happens if the plumbing needs repair once the wall is open?
• What warranty comes with the product and the labor? Ask for it on paper.
• Do you have experience with senior-friendly and accessible bathing?
